Well!!! I have had my first dinning experience at per se...if you have to ask "say what?" then what I write is not of real importance.. but I encourage you to bone-up on Thomas Keller's east coast restaurant, it is that special. Overlooking Columbus Circle and the south west corner of central park, per se commands great views..but the treat for the eyes is really the food.. I could type out the 9+ courses the synchronized staff laid down in front of us, but really there is no point, I don't believe there are any words to describe the tastes, smells and textures, any verbal attempt would not come close to the collective experience of that meal..maybe just a quiet "mmm". I did however wish to capture on camera something of "it"...the light was low, warm and soft in our glass walled private dinning room, the incandescents that floated above the table blended smoothly with the candles in the centerpiece. Before the first course arrived I gave up the idea of shooting any of the plated dishes..so my shot of this, my first glass of champagne and the constellation of lights would be all I would take home in the camera, however my belly and senses took it all in and like the whole of my experience last night, it was subtle, sublime and golden.
